Are we capable of another revolution?

We have seen the Anna Hazare movement fall flat on the ground after touching the peak and today it is just another topic of drawing room discussion. Are we too tired of revolutions?  May be, after the first war of Independence of 1857, the freedom movement, the war of 1971, the Kargil we seem to have lost interest in trying to make a change or to fight. The country has learnt to adjust and take whatever comes their way. That can include corruption, poverty, and terrorism. Nothing seems to affect us too much, it is a day or two of mourning and then back to normal. Is it natural human nature or are we too tired to make an attempt. Anna Hazare sahib had tried hard to get the nation together but he had forgotten, nothing affects until it hits you personally, we have become self-centred. The Gandhian way seemed to have failed; I guess it was to happen, there needs to be a change in the approach especially when the times are changing. How are people expected to fight against c...

The Great Indian Plan

Sometimes it just feels that the Congress never had plans to develop our nation, looking back into the history you will realize that the congress predecessors had ensured that there would be no revolution within  the country in the future and it is being proved from the past 2 years. The day we got Independence, the powerless Indian leaders were on seventh heaven, the new found power was addictive and it got into them, they quietly kept exploiting the faith that our ancestors had on them. Since then, slowly eating up the wealth of the country. Then as time passed by, we Indians got busy in building our lives for our familiy's well being and prosperity. Somehow the trust on the government  didn't  break; there was no one else to look up to. The sorrow of losing family and friends for the independence of the country was still fresh and it was rare to find a leader then. They were all the Nehru’s and Gandhi’s, the other leaders, I feel could do nothing as the entire s...

FAITH

Been to places where the level of faith is staggering, and then I looked at myself and realized that there was nothing, except respect for them. I looked around and found myself surrounded by people, who were immersed in faith. Everything that they did was just towards that one mighty power whom they worshiped . I kept looking at them to find the ingredient which was missing in me. But then certain things have to come from within. I tried to sing along or even tried to dance but it didn’t happen. Faith is that unshakable power that never fails; sooner or later the opposing force has to give up. The heads were bowed down in respect, with humility in their eyes and that hope in their heart that their prayers would be answered. It somehow didn’t fall in place; I have faith in things that I do. But then most of the time, I realize that the opposing force is either too powerful or too stubborn to give in. I just couldn’t answer those questions. It kept me troubled for most of the ...

The Maladies of Pain

Sorrow is a mythical word. It exists and still ceases to exist. The sunrise and sunset appears as and when we want in life. The thought process is endless, and eventually the decision is what makes the difference. Difference is just the contradiction which the mind puts forward to justify your decision. A sorrow of a person is the pleasure of the other though not related. Happiness and troubles have no end, they just transfer from one person to another, just like the law of energy says, “Energy can neither be created nor destroyed, it is just transferred from one body to another.” It is the same with happiness and sorrow. Both exist at the same time but one always has the upper hand, and that is the reflection of your behavior and body language. It is natural and essential that it reflects may be that’s what makes you, YOU. It is often seen that on an average two out of every ten people, are strong enough to pull it off. The most obvious reaction is only during the most extreme mome...

The Little Girl

Feeling down and out I went for a walk, Totally irritated and too tired to talk. Reached a point where I had to pick the road ahead, Left was inviting but “right” is what my heart said. The less trodden and creepy it was with no cars, Only source of light were the stars. Just like my life I was in a dark road again, I scolded myself and kicked a stone down the drain. Just as I was about to turn around, A guy from no where called out and my heart began to pound. He walked to me and said, “Isn’t it a beautiful night?” I was irritated and I said “yea you are right.” He smiled and walked away, I walked ahead, frustrated with the happenings of the day.  With a shattered heart and a disturbed mind, Life was showing me the finger and I still didn’t know what to find. I walked ahead, and I cursed again, this time my shoe needed a mend, A girl of ten walked to me, she tucked at my pants and summoned me to bend. I lowered myself so that I could hear...

Child Labour

Knock knock knock Was the noise that broke my dream. Woke up to open the door and was about to scream. In front of me was a boy of ten, Giving me a toothy smile unlike the cruel men. Dressed in a uniform with a bucket in his hand, Waiting to clean my toilet, with the brush as his magical wand. Surprised was I, staring at him in his eye. His innocence and his desperation touched my heart. Thinking what could be the reason, I sent him away like a dart. Didn’t want to encourage him and give him cash, His employee was the one whom I had to thrash. Independence Day was the occasion, And child labour was in operation. What freedom what democracy? Everybody seemed totally messy. When will be the end to a crime like this, Where, innocent kids give their education a miss. I hope my message is clear, child labour is what I fear. Looking at kids toil day and night, Hope I free them with my might.

Just to be with you

A million miles and a lifetime is all I can offer, No big bucks or a private chopper. Just you and me with understanding and hope, In a small home at the mountain slope. A connection which I could never define, And how much I wish you were mine. It’s just a matter of time that the dream will shatter, What I really have for you may not even matter. But to me I’ve lived a lifetime, Just getting to know you was sublime. Every single day starts with the zeal to make you smile. Every single second that I spend with you is totally worthwhile. The way you smile and laugh, makes my day, The moment you are sad, “I am there for you” is all I can say. Don’t want to put you in any trouble for what I feel, It’s too hard to break; our relationship is made of steel. To be with you all my life and fill it with love and care, Is all I have, me saying all this is really rare. My heart beat is as fast as our friendship grew,  My only wish is, just to b...
