Just to be with you


A million miles and a lifetime is all I can offer,
No big bucks or a private chopper.
Just you and me with understanding and hope,
In a small home at the mountain slope.

A connection which I could never define,
And how much I wish you were mine.
It’s just a matter of time that the dream will shatter,
What I really have for you may not even matter.

But to me I’ve lived a lifetime,
Just getting to know you was sublime.
Every single day starts with the zeal to make you smile.
Every single second that I spend with you is totally worthwhile.

The way you smile and laugh, makes my day,
The moment you are sad, “I am there for you” is all I can say.
Don’t want to put you in any trouble for what I feel,
It’s too hard to break; our relationship is made of steel.

To be with you all my life and fill it with love and care,
Is all I have, me saying all this is really rare.
My heart beat is as fast as our friendship grew,
 My only wish is, just to be with you.

I was at home attending school, living the life of a normal child; it was on the weekends that he made up for the absence during the week. He took me to the slums the first day and then only on the day when it was no longer a slum. I was surprised, and only then did I realise, what he had done in those 5 years. People got fresh water, proper electricity, proper homes to stay; they had a hospital and even a school now. It was all happening. He was there on all news channels and newspapers. Educated Fools: Just education will not change the world

We are an informed generation. Smartphone, internet, websites have enriched our lives with information. The ability to stare at a 5 inch glass screen and getting to know about what is going on in any corner of the world is astounding. Viral videos, social experiments, latest news will not change the world, whereas understanding them, questioning the motive behind them, transforming information to knowledge will enrich the world and make it a better place.
