Terrible Traffic!!!

                                                  THE DANGER AHEAD!!
“Screw the Rules” that’s what people of Visakhapatnam say. The citizens seem to lack basic traffic sense, driving in the wrong way, over taking from the wrong side and over speeding is a common sight. The law enforcing body is to be blamed, important junctions like Siripuram junction, Jagdamba junction are a few places where the traffic constables are present and yet do not bother to handle the traffic. The motorists are in a hurry all the time overtaking and over speeding. The auto rickshaws stop as and when they feel like. The city people haven’t adjusted to the increasing traffic and population of the city. The helmet rule goes for a toss; the traffic police just helped the helmet business and filled the government’s pockets by accumulating fines. And now it’s all over.

The haphazard traffic is just an ugly sight for people coming to visit the city. The traffic at the Ambedkar Circle is a maze of accidents, the directionless traffic and the weak monitoring of traffic is definitely ringing bells, but to add to my amazement there is still no strict action. The reason behind the unruly driving can be the driving license issuing RTO office. It is assumed that the test is either too simple or it has many in roads to acquire a license with ease.

The motorist drive not bothered about the fellow driver or the pedestrians. Everybody is seen in a hurry, it is up to the citizens to realise that Visakhapatnam is no more a city with less traffic; they have to get into the habit of starting early to reach their destination keeping in mind their safety and the people’s safety.  Many youngsters prefer driving rashly and the reason being style statement. Unfortunately style statement is not possible by showing of speed and falling in to a pit. But then there has been no intention of the city people to realise this fact. With the flyover under construction at the RTC junction, many of the roads have been closed, which adds responsibilities to the traffic police, who have been unsuccessful in maintaining the safety on roads.

Another aspect which has to be considered is the condition of the roads; the deteriorating condition of the roads is a risk to the motorists considering the way they drive. The roads which were in a pretty good condition 2years ago have pot holes at regular intervals and the frequent digging up of the roads by the various telephone Communication companies adds on to the trouble. Unfortunately there is no one to take responsibility and improve the situation.

The city of destiny might prove to be the FINAL DESTINY!
